im pretty sure most of you guys know what IKEA is. one of the most prestigious furniture franchise from sweden. and after i got what i came there for, i got disturbed by my own thoughts..
mostly students from my country, Indonesia, filled their room and house equipments with this brand.. from their pillow case until their mouse pad has an IKEA tag behind it..
im quite astonished by this fact..
not the fact cause at first the founder of IKEA only sold pens, and picture frame.. and now it considered as top 10 biggest sales success ever.
but the fact that most of my fellow friend has what i usually called "only-branded-stuff-will-do-me-good". i mean, come on lets be honest, if u wanna buy a mouse pad, why don't u go to electronic city, or a computer store, instead of IKEA?? and u can get a faaaaaar more cheaper spoon in carefour. (im not being stingy, but this is the fact)
is it because of the prestige that u get if ur house full of branded stuff?
of simply there are no nicer place to shop around KL?
im not denial that sometimes i went to this store coz i found the stuff that their offer are nicer, more organized and they have SUPER DELICIOUS MEAT BALLS. im pretty well aware that the stuff are specially made by the designer, BUT using cheap materials that are very well polished. and its not long lasting. also they sold it with a price that can make your eyes bug out....
well in my conclusion its not a sin to buy a great OGLA lamp, or a cozy FLARKE sofa.. as long as u wont have to cheat with your own wallet.
